Peddling our way through Texas

Started moving from Roswell, NM and into Texas a couple of weeks ago.  Mostly stayed at the park.  Got warm and dried out.  Park is undergoing a massive renovation of all sites and building a new club house.  Due to a shortage of housing in the area, there are a lot of long term residences.

As we left Roswell, the weather was gorgeous.  A few clouds but nothing ominous or threatening.  Our first location in Texas was at the Ft Stockton RV Park.  We only stayed one night and got up to leave the next morning and guess what,,,,,,a flat tire.  After looking and calling emergency road services, we found the problem.  About a six-inch gash on one of the trailer tires.  Thank God it didn't explode while driving.  BTW, found on the inside of the tire.  Had it not been flat, I doubt we wouldn't have found it.

After a large donation to the "New Tire for the Trailer Gods" we were on our way.

Our next stop was Junction, Texas and without a doubt, the prettiest park we had ever stayed in.  If you're in the neighborhood, you have got to stay here.  It's called the Junction North Llano River RV Park junctionnorthllanoriverrvpark.com.  I cant say enough about this park and the managers.  Its obvious it used to be a KOA due to the large A Frame building.  You are not sitting on top of each other with plenty of room between sites.  As someone left, within an hour, someone was there raking, washing down tables and getting it nice for the next guest.  Really impressive caretaking.
Kay and Abby enjoying the sun

Another site with a cabana and smoker

Distance between sites approximately 50 feet or more

Our rig and site about 100 feet from the river

Beautiful sites next to the river.  Great for dog walking.  One night, a herd of about 12 deer walked through here down to the river and stayed over an hour.  Abby and I sat right here watching.  How cool is that!!!

Abby laid out most every day.  Terrible life huh?!

All sites were full hookups and really great price.  (Rocky, you would've liked these rocking chairs).

Unfortunately, while here, our brother in law, Robbie Perks, passed away.  Hard to express our love and hurt without also remembering some great memories.  Robbie, you lit up the room each and every time you entered.  You never met a stranger and I never knew you to hold a grudge.  Our "Bud Lite Thursdays" were something I looked forward to each week.  I still remember the day you, Ben and I were swimming in the backyard and Justin stopped by on his lunch hour.  That guy made so many trips to the garage getting beer.  But my favorite was teaching you to play cribbage on the back deck.  What a day.  We love you Robbie.
